*Brazil’s national civil aviation agency (Anac) has released new air travel figures showing that 65.2m passengers travelled in the first half of 2026, up 5.4% on same period in 2025. A total of 50.2m passengers flew on domestic flights, while there were 15m international passengers. Anac also released the monthly figures for June, which registered a total of 10.3m international and domestic air passengers, down 0.9% on June 2025. Of this monthly total, 8.1m passengers took domestic flights and 2.2m travelled on international flights. Aside from passenger flights, Brazil’s air freight transport also posted a year-on-year increase in the first half of the year, with 673,600 tonnes (t) of goods shipped via the airways, up 1.4% on the first half of last year. Of this domestic cargo transported represented 225,400 t while 448,200 t of cargo was transported on international flights.
