*Brazil’s ministry of development, industry, trade, and services has released it latest monthly trade figures, showing a trade surplus of US$7.07bn in July this year, up 1.0% year-on-year. Exports in July totalled US$34.12bn, up 6.2% compared to July 2025, while the total monthly import value stood at US$27.05bn, up 7.6% in year-on-year terms. The rise in Brazil’s exports was mainly driven by extractive industries, which posted a 10.8% year-on-year increase, with a monthly export value of US$8.23bn. Agricultural exports totalled US$7.82bn, up 9.3% year-on-year, while manufacturing exports were up 2.4%, registering an export value of US$17.83bn in July. Regarding Brazil’s top trade partners, exports to China totalled US$10.67bn, up 8.6% compared to the same month last year. However, monthly exports to the US were down 5.0%, with an export value of US$3.64bn, and exports to Argentina were down 13.9% year-on-year, with exports totalling US$1.42bn.
