In brief: Inflation falls in Colombia

*Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has released its consumer price index for July, putting monthly inflation at 0.17%. This was down from 0.39% in June and brought the annual rate in July to 6.03% – down from 6.14% the previous month. The categories that saw the main monthly price increases in July were housing, water, electricity, and gas (+0.55%), healthcare (+0.38%), clothing and shoes (+0.31%), and restaurants and hotels (+0.30%). Prices fell in categories including transport (-0.24%) and food and non-alcoholic drinks (-0.13%).
