*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has reported a 0.2% rise in industrial activity in June compared with May, while the annual increase in activity stood at 0.8%. This follows a 0.7% drop in May and a 2.1% increase in April in monthly terms, according to the latest figures. The annual rise is up from 0.2% recorded in May but down from a 1.8% increase in April. The monthly rise in the index of industrial activity (Imai) was driven by a 3.0% rise in construction, a 0.9% rise in utilities (electricity generation and transmission, provision of water and gas), and 0.6% increase in mining, while manufacturing industries were down 0.6%. In yearly terms, mining was up 7.0%, construction 4.2%, and utilities 0.7%, while manufacturing industries fell by 1.2%.
