*Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the latest figures for its economic activity index (IBC-Br), which showed a monthly drop of 0.6% in June. In year-on-year terms, activity was up 2.4% compared to June last year, while accumulated activity in the 12 months through June 2026 was up 1.5% on the preceding 12-month period. The monthly decline in June this year was mainly driven by decreases in the industrial sector, which dropped by 1.4%, and in services, which was down 0.5% on the previous month. Meanwhile, activity in the agricultural sector rose by 1.0% from May to June.
