COLOMBIA: De la Espriella presents dossier of alleged corruption under Petro
In the run-up to his inauguration, Colombia’s new President Abelardo de la Espriella made little secret of the fact that he would be seeking corruption charges against his predecessor, Gustavo Petro (2022-2026). He wasted very little time in doing so. On 18 August, just 11 days after he took office, De la Espriella announced that his team has compiled a 135-page ‘Book of Truth’ which he said details 82 alleged acts of corruption or wrongdoing under the previous government.
