PERU: Two reminders of old-style politics

There is a tendency among newly sworn-in presidents to believe that their arrival marks a dividing line, the start of a new and hopefully glorious era. Having spent less than a month in office, Peru’s President Keiko Fujimori might be forgiven for taking that view, but this week her administration got two reminders of old-style problems.
