ARGENTINA: Milei doubles down on economic reform
In a closing address on 20 August at the annual conference in Buenos Aires of US think tank Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA), which brings together government officials, business representatives, and investors, President Javier Milei restated his free-market economic policies. Many business groups continue to welcome what they see as the progress he has made in fighting inflation and balancing the fiscal books. Yet this does not appear to be helping Milei’s standing with the voters.
