*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has reported that sales and exports of light vehicles increased year-on-year in August, while production decreased. Monthly sales rose by 2.23% with 129,362 vehicles sold, and exports increased by 1.26% with 300,475 exported. Production dropped by 1.43% with 344,940 units produced. From January to August 2026, sales were up by 4.68% compared to the same period in 2025, with 1.01m vehicles sold. However, production and exports both saw slight declines, falling 0.72% to 2.65m units and 0.06% to 2.25m units respectively.
