BRAZIL | Bolsa Família payments increased. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed a decree on 17 September to increase the social welfare payments of one of his government’s main poverty reduction initiatives, the Bolsa Família cash transfer programme. The government increased Bolsa Família benefits by 15%, which was decided based on calculating the inflation from March 2023-August 2026.
