MEXICO: El Mayo’s son and former officials targeted in latest US sanctions
On 29 September the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (Ofac) announced sanctions against nearly 50 individuals and companies that it said “serve as leaders or facilitators” of Mexico’s Cártel de Sinaloa, including the son of the cartel’s former leader and the ex-husband of the Baja California state governor, Marina del Pilar.
