Central bank lowers growth forecast. The central bank (BCB) released an economic report on 24 September which showed an annual GDP growth forecast of 1.8% for 2026. This marks a decrease from the BCB’s previous forecast of 2.0%. Regarding the breakdown of economic sectors, the BCB lowered its growth projection for the industrial sector from 2.3% to 1.5%, while decreasing the forecast for services from 1.9% to 1.7%. Meanwhile, the growth forecast for the agricultural sector in 2026 was increased from 1.7% to 2.8%.
