HONDURAS: Closing the book on Honduras

The new government led by Porfirio Lobo has set a determined pace in its first few weeks in office, on a mission to secure international recognition and the much-needed release of external economic aid and development cooperation, upon which its economic recovery plans depend. Most of the international community, led by the US, seems to want to draw a line under the Honduras crisis. Even Brazil is subtly edging towards eventual recognition of the new government.
