ARGENTINA: Kirchner makes a virtue of a necessity over the IMF

The Argentine government has made it clear that it wants nobody's help in restructuring its US$88bn defaulted commercial debt. So preoccupied is it, in fact, that it does not even have time to talk to the IMF, or worry about the third and fourth reviews of its economy under a deal reached last year. This is just as well; the third review is still awaiting approval almost three months late, while the IMF itself has nothing good to say to the government.
