BRAZIL: Voters threatened by Rio militias

At the end of July, Justice Minister Tarso Genro said that troops from Brazil's National Security Force (FNS) would be ready to back the federal police in an operation against both drug gangs and militias to guarantee fair elections for mayors and local councillors in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
