Opposition crisis deepens

The opposition continues to reel from the effects of the agreement struck in October between the ruling Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) and the opposition alliance Podemos which paved the way for the referendum on the new constitution [RA-08-11]. The government of President Evo Morales, bolstered by soaring approval ratings, and divisions in the opposition parties, is now starting to take action against some of its most prominent opponents.
