Sendero resurgence troubles Garcí­a

Sendero Luminoso, the guerrilla group which flourished during the first administration of President Alan Garcí­a (1985-1990), is showing worrying signs of reviving during his second administration. In less than two months more than 20 members of the security forces have been killed in a series of guerrilla ambushes in their two strongholds in the central Apurí­mac and Ene river valleys (VRAE) and the north-eastern Alto Huallaga region.
