ARGENTINA | IMF asked to postpone collection. The Argentine government has asked the IMF to postpone collection of some US$1bn in what has been described as non-obligatory payments due before the end of the year. The Fund's managing director, Rodrigo Rato, has said that the request will be 'studied'. He also said that he is convinced the delay in approving the third quarterly review of Argentina's performance is 'a passing situation'. Rato has been in Buenos Aires personally pressing the importance of an 'integral and sustainable restructuring of Argentina's sovereign debt with private creditors'.
