BOLIVIA | Peru gas route 'improbable'. Exporting Bolivia's natural gas through Peru is 'very difficult, in economic terms, under present conditions,' said Raúl Kieffer, president of the Cámara Boliviana de Hidrocarburos, last week. He added that if congress were to pass the new hydrocarbons law outlined by the government [WR-04-28], it would become directly impossible. Kieffer said that the companies now operating in Bolivia and interested in exporting gas have arrived at those conclusions after taking into consideration all factors, and particularly distance and competitiveness.
