MEXICO: Approval of GM food crops challenged by Greenpeace

Environmentalists are mounting a campaign to force the health ministry to reveal what tests were conducted on genetically modified food crops that were declared fit for human consumption before Mexico's adoption, in December last year, of standard procedures for this. Greenpeace has been airing its suspicion that the ministry has simply accepted as valid the tests conducted by the companies marketing these products.
