MEXICO: Top-level dismissals herald multi-agency shake-up

The heads of the two law-enforcement agencies blaming each other for not preventing the recent lynching of two federal agents - Mexico City's public security secretary Marcelo Ebrard and the chief of the Policí­a Federal Preventiva (PFP), Admiral José Luis Figueroa - were dismissed by President Vicente Fox last week. Fox also ordered an overhaul of the federal security ministry and all police forces.
