SURINAME: Bouterse indicted for 'December murders'
On 24 December it was announced that a military court had handed out indictments against former military dictator Desi Bouterse and 25 others for the December 1982 'deliberate and premeditated' murder of 15 opponents of the Bouterse régime. The trial is expected to begin in March.
