ARGENTINA: Menem teams up with Rodrí­guez Saá

Former President Carlos Menem, the most rightwing of Argentina's Peronist rulers, has joined forces with former president-for-a-week Adolfo Rodrí­guez Saá, who sought unsuccessfully to contest the 2003 elections as the candidate of the nationalist Peronist left. At a troubled encounter last week in the provincial capital of San Luis the men served notice that they will seek to gain control of the ruling Partido Justicialista (PJ).
