CHILE: Corbo sticks to low interest rate policy

Although inflation ticked up in May, to 0.7%, Vittorio Corbo, the president of the central bank, reiterated that the central bank would not respond by tightening monetary policy. Inflation in the 12 months to May 2004 was 0.3%, well below the government's target of 3%.
