MEXICO: PRD rattled over outlook in Edomex polls

With gubernatorial elections in the crucial state of Estado de México (Edomex) only half a month away, the mood in the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) is close to panic. This is not because they expected their candidate Yeidckol Polevnsky to win, but because she looks increasingly unlikely to achieve the PRD's real target: the position of runner-up. This could have a serious adverse effect on the presidential aspirations of Mexico City mayor Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
