COLOMBIA: Growth accelerates again
The economy had two bits of good news in the past month. First, at the end
of September, the official figure for growth in the second quarter was
published. This showed the economy growing at its fastest rate for seven years:
5.3%. Then on 19 October, the constitutional court ruled that the congressional
law which allows President Alvaro Uribe to run for re-election was
constitutional.
