NICARAGUA: Bolaños accepts early elections - with conditions

President Enrique Bolaños has said that 'if necessary' he would be willing to cut short his mandate and hold early elections - which is what Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega had proposed days earlier - but then went on to lay down a series of conditions which seem designed to ensure that the opposition will reject his overtures, at least on his terms.
