ETHANOL: The Mexican position

Mexico has started a public debate on the use of the ethanol as a biofuel; an issue which has immense ramifications. One of the new fault lines in Latin America is between those countries which advocate greater use of biofuels and those that oppose using agricultural land to grow crops for fuel. The advocates of biofuels are led by the US and Brazil; the critics by Cuba and Venezuela
