CHILE: Central bank raises rates

The central bank raised interest rates by half a percentage point to 6.75% on 10 June. The bank said that it was taking this action because of the poor outlook for inflation. It said that to delay raising rates would limit its ability to meet the official 3% annual inflation target. The bank last raised rates in January, by 0.25 of a percentage point.
