EL SALVADOR: Borrowing negotiations approved
On 16 April the rightwing parties in congress voted to allow the
government to open negotiations to borrow up to US$161.7m from the Banco
Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE). The next big test for the
government will be to raise nine more votes in congress to approve the
loans.
