COSTA RICA: What the bank credit numbers mean

Outstanding bank credit to the non-banking sector appears to have remained at Col$6.9bn (US$13.6bn) since the beginning of 2009. In fact, in real terms, credit has risen by 3%, but this rise has been obscured by the appreciation of the colón against the dollar.
