CUBA: Dancing on the spot

In the run up to the Sixth Communist Party congress in mid-April, the country's president, Raúl Castro, called for the next generation of leaders to step forward, yet only three of the new slimmed-down, 15-person ruling politburo, are under 70. The average age of the 115-person central committee is 67, and 20% of this group's members are serving military officers.
