BRAZIL: Trade figures point to stalled economy

The weekly trade figures show that the domestic economy is still floundering, while exports may be running out of steam. Worrying for policymakers, the daily value of exports in the first 10 days of August was 6.6% down on July. The government blames the strike by customs officers for the slowdown.
