President Vicente Fox has lost his first official to go as the result of accusations of corruption. Guido Belsasso, head of the national anti-addiction commission (Conadic), resigned yesterday. He was accused of setting up a web page in which he touted for business. He claimed that he could help companies land contracts with any part of the government and speed up deals.
