COLOMBIA: Government presses on with Vat rise

Colombia's finance minister Alberto Carrasquilla has outlined the government's tax plan aimed at increasing revenues by Col$2.7tr (US$929m) next year. The package, which will be announced by the end of the year, includes the controversial rise in the Vat rate for basic family goods, a tax on pensions, and the proposed tax evasion law.
