MEXICO-US: Despite the precautions, border-crossing deaths rise

For all the warnings issued by the Mexican government about the risks awaiting would-be migrants attempting border crossings in dangerous areas like the Arizona desert, the flow has increased over the past year. Indeed the rate of fatalities in attempted crossings this year has been running almost 29% higher than the average for the previous four years according to data compiled by the Mexican foreign ministry.
