VENEZUELA: Spat with Chile

Chile recalled its ambassador from Caracas to get a first-hand report on what President Hugo Chávez had said about Chile's relations with Bolivia. Last Saturday, Chávez spoke at the Ibero-american summit in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and supported what he called Bolivia's justified demand for access to the Pacific. He also said that Bolivia would be right not to export its gas on disadvantageous terms.
