PARAGUAY: No FTA with US, no withdrawal from Mercosur
The government of President Nicanor Duarte has been listening to the messages sent by its two biggest partners in Mercosur, Brazil and Argentina [WR-05-37]. Foreign Minister Leila Rachid has publicly stated that Asunción has no intention of leaving Mercosur nor, for that matter, of seeking a separate free-trade agreement with the US.
