COLOMBIA: Kidnappings fall in Colombia

The number of kidnappings in Colombia fell by 46% in the first quarter of this year against the same period in 2003. According to government figures published on 3 May, a total of 317 people were kidnapped in the first three months of this year, the lowest level since 1996, when 286 people were abducted in the first quarter.
