NICARAGUA: PLC tries new tack to free Alemán

One more loose end of the recently overcome political crisis was cut off last week: the national assembly voted (with the Sandinistas abstaining) against going ahead with impeachment proceedings against President Enrique Bolaños. The Partido Liberal Constitucionalista (PLC), however, has not given up trying to free former president Arnoldo Alemán.
