MEXICO-US: Final payout for workers who went to the US in the 1940s

By 15 November the government of President Vicente Fox hopes to close the books on the embarrassing scandal of the braceros, the Mexican labourers who crossed over to work in the US between 1942 and 1964 and were cheated of their compulsory savings. There is one snag: the biggest bracero organisation says the payout announced by the government is 'risible and insulting'.
