MEXICO | Direct investment rises sharply. Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first nine months of the year totalled US$12.9bn, or 25.7% more than in the same period of last year. This figure excludes what the central bank calls the 'atypical' FDI inflow resulting from the acquisition of Bancomer by the Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA).
