MEXICO: Edomex - PRD leaps, PRI just about holds

As a verdict on Roberto Madrazo's electoral leadership of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) the much-awaited legislative and municipal elections in the state of Mexico (Edomex) were inconclusive. The PRI held on to its share of the vote but only increased its congressional representation by one seat, while losing 13 of the municipalities it had been controlling. Trendwise, the clear winner was Andrés Manuel López Obrador's Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD).
