Argentine judge slams US-type anti-terrorist laws

The models of antiterrorist legislation which the US is pressing Latin American governments to adopt are a threat to human rights, according to an Argentine supreme court justice. In the opening address on 22 September to an international conference on judicial systems and human rights, Justice Eugenio Raúl Zaffaroni, was strongly critical of the US 'war on terror' in the wake of the September 2001 attacks on New York and Washington.
