Humala tries to revive his ambitions in Peru

Ollanta Humala, the nationalist who lost out to Alan Garcí­a in the second round of Peru's presidential elections, is trying to arrest the fall in his fortunes by forming a new political alliance, Gran Alianza Nacionalista Peruana - Gana Perú. Humala's ostensible reason for forging a new alliance shortly before the regional elections on 19 November is to bring together all the regional movements that embraced his nationalist proposal under the same banner. In reality it looks like he is trying to limit his losses.
