ECUADOR: Gutiérrez factor stokes tension ahead of run-off

The second round of presidential elections on 26 November is threatening to polarise Ecuadorean politics more than the first. The surprising success of Gilmar Gutiérrez, the brother of former president Lucio, who finished third in the elections, means that there will be more at stake in the second round for Alvaro Noboa and Rafael Correa than simply winning or losing.
