Tracking trends

BOLIVIA: Exports surge. Bolivia's exports for the first ten months of the year totalled US$3.39bn, more than the entirety of 2005, when they amounted to US$2.73bn, according to the national statistics agency (INE). Exports were driven by hydrocarbons (up 52% to US$1.69bn). Zinc exports grew by 165%. Brazil is the main recipient of Bolivia's exports (principally natural gas). These increased 54% to US$1.29bn (38% of the total) over the same period.
