COLOMBIA: Mancuso's testimony disappoints

Those awaiting the lurid details of the para-political scandal will have been disappointed as one of the most eagerly anticipated events in Colombia's recent history is so far proving to be an anti-climax: Salvatore Mancuso, a prominent leader of the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), did not name any names in the first few days of his testimony under the peace and justice law on 19 December. Instead he limited himself to justifying his involvement in the AUC. He will resume his testimony on 15 January.
