BOLIVIA: Morales rings the changes

President Evo Morales celebrated the completion of his first year in office by overhauling his cabinet, bringing in seven new faces. The most significant change was the interior minister: Alicia Muñoz was replaced by Alfredo Rada. Rada will immediately face the challenge of defusing the tension in Cochabamba, where the recent violent social conflict claimed the lives of two people. Rada previously served as deputy minister of coordination of social movements, which means he should have ample experience.
