Chile

Chile: The monthly indicator of economic activity (Imacec), a proxy for real GDP, fell on an annual basis for the eigth consecutive month in July, contracting 2.7% year-on-year, according to the central bank. It rose 0.4% on a month-on-month basis over June. Real GDP contracted 3.4% in the first half of 2009, putting CHile in recession for the first time in a decade.
